Specification

Drying conditions & surface finishes, explained.

Every order is prepared to one of the following standards, so what you order is exactly what arrives.

Drying Conditions

KD — Kiln Dried
Dried in controlled kilns down to roughly 12–18% moisture, giving the timber better dimensional stability and a lighter weight for handling and shipping.
AD — Air Dried
Dried naturally over time to around 18–25% moisture content. A more economical option that still meets the requirements of many applications.
KDHT — Kiln Dried Heat Treated
Heat-treated to meet ISPM-15 international standards, making it the required choice for export packaging and shipments with phytosanitary compliance needs.

Surface Finishes

Rough Sawn
Left as cut directly from the mill. The natural surface is well suited to structural work and any application where a finished look isn't required.
S4S — Surfaced Four Sides
Precision milled on all four faces for a smooth, exact-dimension board — the standard choice for furniture and any surface that will remain visible.
